Khalon trotted through the dense forest, hoping that Ryder wasn't too far behind. The Alaskan Malamute pup loved having Ryder around to talk too, for she was the only dog that he had ever met, excluding his parents. Every time he got the chance, Khalon would sniff leaves, trees, and the air. He wanted to make sure it was safe for him and Ryder.

As Ryder padded up to Khalon she yelped, "RABBIT!!" and bolted past Khalon in an attempt to catch it.

(OOC; Wow, we were really tired last night. xD)
Khalon jumped as Ryder surprised him. That was certainly odd of her to do, it was just a rabbit. They saw rabbits all of the time. He looked over at Ryder, who had obviously scared the rabbit away. "No use trying to catch it now, Ry." Khalon barked, twitching his nose in amusement at Ryder's sudden yell.

(OOC: Oh yea.) Ryder just snorted and started to dig a hole in the dirt.

"What...are you doing?" Khalon asked, confused as to why Ryder would randomly start digging a hole in the ground. The Alaskan Malamute pup arched his back in a stretch. "So, what do you wanna do?" He was filled with questions today, it was quite odd.

"I'm digging a hole, duh! This is what I wanna do... for now." Ryder started digging again.

"But it doesn't make any sense." Khalon chuckled, glad of Ryder's sense of humor. He looked around, they were surrounded by dense undergrowth and tall trees, and there was a stale fox scent in the air. The pup sniffed the air cautiously, he heard something approaching, but couldn't quite place his paw on what it was.

She glanced up from digging and saw that Khalon was scenting the air--again. But this time it was different, there was a huge buck.

Khalon tried to hush Ryder with his tail. He peered through the trees curiously. Whoa. It was a deer, with antlers. And it was way bigger than them! (OOC; This reminds me to add deer to the store.

(OOC; cool!!) "I'm hungry." Whispered Ryder prodding Khalon with her tail.

Khalon grunted and looked around. Amazingly, he spotted a rabbit, nibbling on a patch of luscious grass. The pup stalked in the bushes, although his bulky size did not alarm the rabbit - who was completely unaware of his presence.
As soon as he got close enough, Khalon jumped and killed it in one swift bite. He picked it up and brought it over to Ryder. "How is this?" The male dog barked through the rabbit.

"Ok now let me catch one for you!" Whispered Ryder. She looked around spotting a pheasant totally oblivious, she ran up to it quietly and killed in in one swift bite. "Mine's bigger than yo-urs!" She teased around her prey.

Khalon chuckled. He was mature for his age, so he wouldn't make a teasing comment back. The pup arched his back in a long stretch and put the rabbit on the ground. Hmm, they had both caught prey...that was a really good start for the day.

"Do you wanna swap?" Ryder asked, dropping her prey in front of him.

"Sure." He barked cheerily, pushing the rabbit towards Ryder and taking her pheasant. He liked pheasants better than rabbits, and he knew that Ryder liked rabbit. Khalon took a huge bite out of the feathery bird and chewed it slowly.
